Pastor Michael Swagerty has served faithfully as the Senior Pastor of Living Grace Fellowship Church for the past 25 years. He is a native Californian born and raised outside of Modesto in a small farming community. He received his call to ministry while attending Hughson Union High School and from that moment on, he has dedicated his life to participating in the ministry of Jesus Christ.
After graduating from High School, he majored in Theology and minored in Communication at Ambassador College, graduated in 1968 and was ordained right out of college in by Grace Communion International (formerly World Wide Church of God). He received a Master of Pastoral Studies in 2013 from Grace Communion Seminary. He has been serving in pastoral ministry all his life, with assignments in Ohio, New Jersey, Illinois, and now in Sacramento, CA.
Pastor Swagerty has been instrumental in leading many people to Christ, ministering to communities all over the United States, marrying and baptizing many, and has served as a mentor and an advocate for men, women and children over his four decade long career. He married the love of his life, Sandy Swagerty on May 26, 1968 and they have been blessed to share 49 years of marriage, 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.
His main passion now is to finish well in his last two years of ministry before retiring in December of 2017. Part of that passion includes investing in young people who feel a call to ministry. He fervently desires to leave a legacy behind in young people. Thus his enthusiasm for youth ministries in his congregation and this concert to raise funds for those ministries.
Minister Judah Dwight Sanders serves as the Pastor of Students and Young Adults and coordinates the Youth and Young Adult Ministry for Living Grace Fellowship. He also serves as a Praise & Worship Leader and Camp Counselor. He is a native of Sacramento, CA and was raised and baptized in Living Grace Fellowship Church.
Judah Dwight received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL where he studied Mass Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. While in school, he participated in extra curricular activities like speech, debate and theatre. He was blessed to write and perform the inaugural speech for the Bethune-Cookman University’s sixth President, Dr. Edison O. Jackson. Judah Dwight is currently working on a Master of Theology & Pastoral Studies degree on a full ride scholarship from Grace Communion International Seminary which he will complete in 2017.
In his spare time, Judah Dwight enjoys acting and motivational speaking, preaching and worship leading on both a local and international level. He pursues his passions which include social justice issues, community service projects and youth ministry. He is a proud member of Alpha Nu Omega Christian Fraternity Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
Lauren Reierson serves as our Young Adult Ministry Director. She also serves as a Youth Ministry Leader and Camp Counselor. She was born in Carson City, Nevada and raised Sacramento, California. She was raised and baptized into Living Grace Fellowship at a young age.
Lauren recently received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from William Jessup University. She is currently pursuing Master/PHD joint programs and will begin her graduate studies in August 2017. While in school, she was the President of the Psychology Club and is published in The Journal of Psychology and Christianity by the Christian Association of Psychological Studies. She also serves on the Juvenile Justice Commission of Placer County and was listed in Who’s Who in America for 2016. She recently attended 7th Asia Pacific Regional Conference of the International Association of Suicide Prevention in Tokyo, Japan where she assisted in several presentations on Suicidality in Young Adults.
She and her husband Corey enjoy playing with their kitties, traveling and binge watching Netflix shows. She is passionate about community psychological health and young people.
David Houck serves as the Worship Director for Living Grace Fellowship. He is the second of three boys born in Des Moines Iowa, and raised all over the Western half of the US. His Elementary School years were spent in Visalia, Ca., and by then, he had two little sisters.
As a young adult, he left church, studied art, came back to church, sang in the choir, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science. Originally, he believed he would teach High School but instead moved to Dallas, Texas, where he earned my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and continued to sing in the choir. Later, he moved back to Sacramento and spent many years working with stroke survivors, and now works as a certified Hand Therapist.
He began leading worship in 1998, and has been LGF’s Worship Director for five years. He married his beautiful wife, Oksana, 17 years ago and they have two amazing children: a fourteen year old daughter who sings an plays piano, and a four year old son, who sings. They also sponsor three children in developing countries. David is passionate about justice, especially the work of International Justice Mission and enjoys mountaineering and photography.
Nancy Curtis and Linda Wakeley make up our administrative team and make sure our ministry operates in excellence. They have been serving at Living Grace Fellowship for over twenty years in multiple capacities from chairing events, to pastoral care, to representation at denomination events. Nancy is skilled in clerical and administrative functions, while Linda is gifted in hospitality, networking and church health and growth. Both Nancy and Linda are blessed to have loving and supporting Husbands who also serve in the ministry.
Our Worship Service teams are comprised of all of the folks that help make sure our worship service goes smoothly and includes our Ushers, Video Ministry Team, Sound Team, Hospitality Team and Kitchen Team. This teams are comprised of some incredible individuals who put their hearts into serving people.
